Tropical Storm Karen dissipated in the Gulf of Mexico on Sunday, 10/6/13. We got torrential rain from what was left of Karen here in North Central Florida beginning on Monday afternoon, 10/7/13. Then a cold front approached late Tuesday pulling all that heavy rain north and east.
You got the combo of a cold front and the remnants of Karen - not a TS.
You’re right; thanks for the clarification. They were calling it everything from a TS to a Nor’Easter and whatever else they could think of, at the local weather channels.
