SALT LAKE CITY — National Park Service workers were busy Friday preparing to open eight national recreations sites in Utah that were closed the past 11 days due to the federal government shutdown.

Zion National Park opened Friday with limited services, according to a recorded message at the park's main telephone number. Trails that don't require permits and the Zion Mount Carmel Highway are open.

Both visitor centers, the Kolob Caynon scenic drive, the south campground will open this afternoon, according to the recording. The park's shuttles will begin running Saturday morning.

They should devote some funds to at least a 20’x20’ sign with FUBO on it.

Actually, I’d like to see a couple of million of those signs everywhere...with high amounts around the Whine-House of Cretins.

Hey Barack...we hate your slimy muslim guts.

Ironically this will save the Fed money because now they can send home the NPS SWAT teams that have been threatening senior citizens.

So the Obama NPS Brownshirts are backing off? Are they still “packing”?

DARTH REID:Let's blow this joint. It appears Utah Governor Skywalker's actions in funding the parks has freed us to go to Washington DC on Sunday morning so we can light-sabre some 90-year old veterans at the World War II menorial...

I like the sign idea!

And, if they'd put one of these in every National Park System urinal and they could pay their own expenses and then some:

This shutdown may have unintended consequences for Obama.

Everyone will see that the states are perfectly capable of running their parks. No Federal involvement needed.

And Utah has money to loan because . . .

Drum roll, please . . .

Democrats hold 14 out of 75 seats in the state house of representatives (19%) and 5 out 29 seats in the state senate (17%).

Whatever kind of water they drink in Utah, bottle it and share it with the rest of the country!

One, Utah has a constitution which makes it mandatory for the state to balance its budget every year.

Two, Utah derives the bulk of its cash flow from tourism and skiing. If those parks are not open, we got trouble in the mountain west.

I trust visitors to the park will let the park rangers know they are #1 at every opportunity.

They sure showed the American people what they think of their employers.

Governor Herbert knows that money talks even with lefties. Those NPS park workers will vote democrat anyway so its not them. Orrin Hatch the very senior Senator from Utah took the dictation from the Governors mouth. Next the state will buy all the federal oil fields and FRAC away! Yeee Haw!!!!

Exactly. Montana’s governor Demobrat will not. I repeat will NOT open Glacier National Park. He thinks it will bring an influx of Canadian illegals into the country or he just is voting himself out of office.

I think the states should run all the national parks. Do away with the NPS. The states should run them, but they are open to all. Kind of like state parks. Idea?!
