Can you cite Nixon using the IRS against his enemies?
The former Air Force Chief of Staff General Curtis Lemay was audited by the IRS during the first term of Nixon.
Lemay wanted to bomb Vietnam in a way to win the war and ran as the running mate of George Wallace (3rd party ) in 1968 for president.
He thought he was targeted to keep him out of politics.
I thought the accusation against Nixon was more of an implied threat to use the IRS against his “enemies”, rather than it actually happening.
