As bad as having nurses do abortions, what about midwives? What legally is a midwife, anyway? Do they have to have any special training to be a midwife, or is this a way to allow totally untrained, unlicensed people do abortions. What about the boyfriend? If he wants his girlfriend to have an abortion can he be a 'midwife'?

I don't mean to slam midwives, I am just worried that this wording seems to be a way to allow anyone with a coathanger to perform an abortion.
