Solid conservative majority in Congress and in a number of states.
Split TX into 5 solid conservative majority states and 2 liberal ones. They now have 10 conservative senators and 4 liberals.
Rinse and repeat for other states as needed. Permanent conservative majority, at least in the Senate.
And perfectly constitutional.
It’s fun to think about slicing off Chicago and the collar counties here in Illinois. Used to say they could turn the toll plazas on tht tollways into Points of Entry, but Blago tore ‘em out when he installed I-Pass electronic tags ;-)
We are told that Chicago is the “economic engine” of the state. To which I say “Fine, let’s see how well that engine runs WITH NO DAMN FOOD!”
I’ve been pondering that idea as well - have all the states with republican legislatures split into two or more states, thus dramatically increasing the republican representation in the Senate. The democrats couldn’t do a thing to stop it...
