Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was sentenced Thursday to 28 years in prison for corruption, the apparent last step after a series of scandals destroyed his political career and helped steer a crisis-laden city even deeper into trouble.
Kilpatrick, who served as mayor from 2002 until fall 2008, fattened his bank account by tens of thousands of dollars, traveled the country in private planes and even strong-armed his campaign fundraiser for stacks of cash hidden in her bra, according to evidence at trial.

Oh well. Obama will bail them out with billions and another black will steal it all. It is, and has been, expected for years.
Kwame's mommy. Guy who beat her.
Sexy text messages, perjury charges and a Detroit political career mired in corruption brought Democratic Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick's distinguished congressional career to an end Tuesday night -- and she had only her son to blame.
That son -- former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick -- is serving five years in prison for violating the terms of his 2009 probation. He originally went to jail for perjury and corruption related to a sex and text-message scandal between him and his chief of staff in the mayor's office. He was sent back to prison in 2010 on additional perjury charges.
Although Represenative Kilpatrick's 14 years in Congress were scandal-free, and she eventually nabbed a spot on the powerful Appropriations Committee, a poll just before Tuesday's primary showed that 44 percent of voters planned to choose someone other than the incumbent because of the mess surrounding the former mayor.
The congresswoman also faced her toughest opponent ever Tuesday night in Hansen Clarke, an Ivy League-educated Michigan state senator with a compelling personal story and a slogan telling voters "It's Time for a Change." Clarke soundly defeated Kilpatrick, by 47 percent to 41 percent.--Snip--
Give him back to Detr0it, the pe0ple deserve him.
That's RACIST! Obama pardon incoming....
What political party was that guy in again?
Personally, I think he should have gotten 40 yrs. After the lengthy proclamation of all of his offenses (particularly RICO) by the judge, I thought she'd give him at least the minimum - which was 30 yrs.
Kwame momma, Yallz boy!:
He’ll serve 18 months max.
The negrafioso crime syndicate. Hope he likes his new rimless stainless steel toilet.
So then, 15 years in the FedPen is NOT the new 28...for Kwame Kilpatrick.
The truly sad thing is, he would guarantee being the winner tomorrow so long as he had a (D) next to his name.
Heck, even as an independent he would probably win if the two opposing him were white.
Was it Federal charges?
Good. What a POS.
I want to see the perp walk. Any pics of the perp walk?
Typical Afrikan tinhorn dictator.
