(CNSNews.com) -The Utah National Guard has cancelled its order for $47,174 in mechanical bulls.

CNSNews.com had reported the order on Monday in a story that was linked to the Drudge Report and cited on Fox News.

A cancellation notice for the contract was posted on the General Services Administration (GSA) website at 9:32 AM Thursday.

Press Information Officer Lt. Col. Hank McIntire of the Utah National Guard tells CNSNews.com there never really was a contract, “There were glitches in the contracting process. So, no contract was ever drawn up or consummated.”

When asked if he could tell CNSNews.com what the specific glitches were, McIntire replied, “No.”

Those d**n glitches again. Should anyone ever find the ballot printouts in the Black precincts in PA and OH that reported 110% straight Democrat votes, it would no doubt be “glitches” that enabled the Chicago Democrat Mafia to win last year’s election.

This doesn’t sound like fraud at all (Sarcasm!).

Why was the National Guard even thinking about buying one or two “mechanical bulls”? Why wasn’t that answer in the article?

Do people realize... this was an accounting issue that shows the money as committed. IT’S SPENT MONEY unless there is a credit voucher entered. Someone is getting paid or is refunding some money.

They are preferred as seats when listening to cowboy poetry.

Then they should buy horses. They are cheaper.

So the Mechanical Bulls would’ve been for the Utah National Guard. This would be toys for grown ups, very expensive toys. Or maybe there’s som kind of training does best when using the bucking bronco bulls. What a picture that makes.

I can't speak directly for the Utah National Guard but I would bet these two mechanical bulls were to be used at tools to draw potential recruits at county fairs.

Yes it is an all volunteer military but recruiting is all about names, leads and personal contact.

Few people just walk in your door and want to join.

If anyone has seen climbing walls, fancy red white and blue tents, all of that stuff costs money.

I'm a super fiscal conservative and do not necessarily think this purchase is necessary. Just providing some food for thought as to why they were even considering this purchase. Less than 1% of our population signs up to defend the nation. If you are a veteran or currently serving I salute you and thank you for your service.

Probably trying to figure out a way to counter this.

Think of the agility it takes to do that. I was impressed with a Flying Scissors karate kick.

They have Government run RODEO Schools in Utah? I saw the first mechanical bull at Jim Shoulder’s rodeo school in Henryetta OK forty one years ago.

"the Utah National Guard is NOT THE FEDS............."

but then there's this:

"The government shutdown may be keeping furloughed federal workers at home, but on Monday the U.S. Army contracted to buy a mechanical bull.

The $47,174 contract was awarded on Oct. 7 to Mechanical Bull Sales Inc. of State College, Penn."
