One of the main proponents of holding up the continuing resolution in order to push a defunding of Obamacare said the first week of the shutdown has proved his case.
“The Obama Administration’s behavior during the first week of the shutdown has been the best argument against Obamacare anyone has ever made,” said Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah).
“The American people do not want Obamacare, and they are demanding that Washington act to protect them from the harmful effects of this unfortunate law. The president’s response has been to ignore them, allow the government to shutdown, and then use his power to close national parks and monuments, stop paying veterans’ benefits, and cut off cancer research,” he continued. “This is exactly why we should not expand the government’s power over our health care choices. What power the government has, it will use – and misuse – to advance its own interests, even if that means punishing the American people along the way.”
Lee compared the message sent by the shutdown to that sent by the IRS scandal: “Do what I say or else.”
“President Obama is not just using the vast powers of his office as leverage against Republicans – he is abusing his powers as leverage against the American people,” the senator said.
“The scenes of World War II veterans being shut out of a monument built in their honor should be a bright red flag warning the American people what an out-of-control federal government is capable of. Each day brings a new and more vivid example of why it is critical that we not allow Washington to reach even further into our most personal and intimate decisions,” he added.
“We now see how determined the president is to expand the power of the federal government and his willingness to use that power to harm the country to get what he wants. Congress cannot allow this to stand and should continue to work to end the shut down and protect the American people from Obamacare.”
Sen. Mike Lee gets it exactly. How many others in Washington have enough courage to back him up?

Seriously, how far is it to replication of the Soviet Union in the 1970’s where the govt buro’s owned the “dachas” at the lakes and the beach houses while the serfs spent two hours in line for eggs? Is it any great leap from where things stand today?

A college roommate of mine lived in Russia in the late ‘70’s. It was more like waiting in line all day in the snow for a pair of boots five sizes too small but taking them anyway so you could exchange them with someone else.

Obama has been using Alinsky tactics like these for years. No one has ever looked into whether or not they work, though. They all seem to be a big hissy fit to me. If they once worked, I suspect they have lost all power, especially when they are used by the power brokers, not the rabble on the outside.
obozocare will survive because it is a means for the government to further control and break the will of the American people, period. It is beginning to appear that the republicans in the House are going to give obozo his obozocare funding. The NWO elites put the obozo in the WH to do exactly what he is doing; initiate complete government control. Obozo is succeeding at what he's been tasked to do and I sincerely believe that there is much more government strong arming of the people to come.
All the shutdowns are targeted toward whites...while Obamacare targets blacks and Hispanics for free Obamacare and working whiteys to pay for them. Same old...same old...
Yes! This needs to be shouted from the rooftops. Obama has shown dramatically the danger of surrendering power to the US government. If they are prepared to shut off death benefits to the families of dead soldiers, who among us would not believe that they would blackmail us by rationing healthcare?
