The radio program I was listening to on the way home was talking about this - the 2 hosts lean left but are very supportive of the military. One of the soldiers killed was a nurse stationed a Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, WA.
Apparently she volunteered to do this special duty. She went out with Special Forces teams (she happened to be with Rangers when an IED got her and 3 others in Afghanistan). She would go in with them on raids and take care of the women and children. She was also bringing healthcare to them.
The radio hosts were really ticked! They do fund raising, etc. for the Fisher House (there’s 1 at JBLM, but it’s always full and they’re trying to build another). Apparently, Fisher House and other donations are paying for the nurse’s family to fly to Dover so they can be there tomorrow a.m. to receive the nurse’s casket.
I thought I just heard Ollie say Wounded Warriors were helping, too. He or Chris S said that only Megyn and 1 other (don’t recall but could have been Greta) were talking about this.
Megyn just said that Twitter is going nuts about this.
