That’s weird, and more than a little creepy. What kind of woman would be depressed that long after her child was born? And what kind of doctor would keep her on that kind of mind-altering medication for that long? It just doesn’t make sense. They are hiding something important from us. This is scary.
Manic Depression in women often comes as a result post partum depression and it is usually permanent.
The family said that they had been slowly titrating her off of her medications which they recently accomplished and that may have been a contributing factor here.

Use your head... It is a chemical imbalance in the brain caused by pregnancy and/or child birth. It doesn’t affect all women. Individuals recover in varying time frames and degrees. It is not a conspiracy to turn child-bearing women into drug-addled idiots...
My mother got post-partem depression after the birth of my sister.
She never fully recovered.
