“It was the Obama Administration that may have given the NSA the green light in 2011 to tremendously expand its warrantless tapping of the Internet.”

I was working for a 3 letter intel agency in 2010...and they told us to get rid of our facebook accounts - that anything we did or said could cost us our clearance depending on what we posted or commented on...I deleted mine...and then the whole Snowden thing hit...I think the higher ups knew this program went on line and what it was capable of doing - and they didn’t want the intel personnel to get caught up in it... Presently - I’m in the middle of cyber and hacking training...one can clearly see where the new battlefield is going to be - and it ain’t going to be some sand box...well maybe a sandbox....but one without the actual sand...

My guess was that the Obama Administration gave the NSA the green light to directly access the data at Apple, Facebook, Google, Micrsoft and Twitter in 2010--probably through political blackmail. Imagine what would have happened if Apple didn't "go along" with the Obama Administration's demands and got sued by the IRS for many billions in taxes from Apple's vast offshore financial holdings....
