Lawyers for State Attorney Angela Corey say she has

An elected official can be sued. Evidence the many harassment suits against Sarah Palin.
Here’s a discussion of sovereignty.

“I think its an absurd assertion that shes above the law, said attorney Wesley White, who is representing Kruidbos.”
I’m sure holder and zero figure they’re covered by this, too.
If a public official steps outside the boundaries of his/her responsibilities, he/she is not covered by immunity.
‘Sovereign Immunity’? Is that the same as saying that you are above the law?
Silly lawsuit. The rules do not apply to liberals in the self-appointed ruling class.
Believe it or not, she’s a Republican.
FL State Attorney or Cat House Madam?

Especially if its an abuse of their authority which is referred to as official oppression in most jurisdictions. I’d say withholding evidence that could possibly exonerate the alleged perpetrator or change the perception of his/her character would fall into that realm. Actually she also needs to have federal criminal charges filed against her in addition to the civil lawsuit. I’d imagine if the’d start digging they will find many more cases where she acted in the same manner. Of course we know why she hasn’t been charged...

Hey, holder and zero figure it IS their purvue to obey the laws they fell OK with and ignore those they do not feel OK with. In other words, they are not to be held within any boundaries and there is no one who will actually enforce the laws.
> Non-lawyers don’t have the right to question lawyer’s ethics and professionalism?
Of course they do. That’s complete BS. Sounds like they need to be schooled about what an ‘elected’ official really means the hard way.
Didn’t Obama just say we cannot ignore a law. I think the reference was ACA.
Such as, say, selling illegal guns in a place like Mexico, for example?
The one comment at the site is terrific.

Good luck...
I won’t express my personal opinions of Angela Corey in a public venue because I cannot think of a possible way to phrase it that isn’t directly and unapologeticly, fully defamatory against precisely the sort of professional she undeniably is.
I will note, however, that in suing her, they have an uphill battle to put it mildly. Did they file in State or Federal court?
In the Fed, the matter is settled. There’s even a very recent SCOTUS ruling within this ideological ambit in Connick v. Thompson.
US v’s Sterba, Koubriti, Eastridge and Wilson all basically affirm that even in the face of gross prosecutorial misconduct, they are completely immune from all liability. We’re talking deeply appalling stuff like withholding evidence that proves wrongfully convicted men are actually innocent, etc.
This is the sort of stuff you’d expect in Iran, not here, but we’ve been hurtling down the slope for the past 30-40 years, undoing civil protections, disabling institutional culpabilities and weakening the foundations of laws so they can be ‘applied more broadly’.
I’m over caring, though.
People get precisely the country they deserve, their representatives and officials are an exacting portrait of who they really are.”
Absurd assertion which asserts all government officials are exempt from law due to sovereign immunity.
Stall tactic which I hope the judge beats down with a severe rebuke on ruling.
“Absurd assertion which asserts all government officials are exempt from law due to sovereign immunity.”
This tells me they have no other defense. Her behavior was criminal.
So, now we know what became of Jaba......
Yeah, like colostomy powell.
Good point.
Don’t see how she can duck out from a wrongful termination suit or think whistleblower protection doesn’t apply. She is as ept in this case as she was honchoing the Zimmerman prosecution.
