Thank you Republicans for not backing down and shutting down the government. Maybe now finally Americans will realize that 99% of the government is not needed. And we might pay off the debt if we keep the EPA ,IRS , NSA etc not funded! this is the best thing ever that Republicans did shutting down the gov and not backing down to the media.

No need to raise the debt limit now.

This is great. It’s like when Bath-house Barry goes golfing all the time.
He does the country a favor when he’s not at the White Hut but instead is golfing or even taking his (almost) monthly million dollar vacations.

Except that like every other shutdown, federal employees will be paid whatever they lost during their furlough period.

I don’t think federal spending is really down very much. Only suspended. It will catch up after the shutdown is over. Feds will get fully compensated while they’re off and contractors will still get paid becuase of contracts that are in force.

Exactly right.
Apparently all prior furloughed employees were fully paid following all 17 prior shutdowns.
Just one big paid vacation for non-essential (i.e., not needed) fed workers! They are at the bars and golf courses. Nice work if you can get it.

AS long as when GOP caves they dont pay all those GSes for the time they were off during shutdown. Then it cost more as it did in 1996.
What??
Rush didnt tell his listeners that’s what the GOP (Newt) did in 1996? The big Newt victory??

Dems would not mind a short (2-3 days) shutdown, because they could turn that into a political goldmine for the 2014 elections.
Dems fear a long shutdown, because they fear many of their supporters might actually realize we dont need many of those government agencies after all.
Pubbies fear a short shutdown, because they know they will get the blame.
