Jacksonville International Airport reopens; device ‘rendered safe’
Witnesses say they saw 2 men taken into custody
The Jacksonville International Airport was immediately evacuated after 2 suspicious packages were found, one package was found in the terminal and one in the parking garage. The incident began when authorities at the airport confronted a suspicious man who said he had a bomb and a second man was seen running away from the scene. According to flightaware.com, both men have been arrested. The airport reopened late this evening after a press conference where Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spokesman, Shannon Hartley, said they recovered a “device” in one of the packages that “certainly had some destructive nature.” -
