Overpriced medical care in the USA is a direct result of private or public health insurance and way too much of the costs going to those not providing actual health care.

The root cause is lawyers enriching them selves by suing ever doctor that moves. The legal assumption that medicine is a perfect science and any deviation from perfection is subject to money damages is the problem.

From that premise grows innumerable branches of costs that are in effect defense attorney court room evidenciary statements needed to educate an ignorant jury intent on hanging the doctor or hospital

I agree. Let patients pay doctors and hospitals directly and the market would set the pirces. Hospitals and doctors can then offer payment plans to low income folks and collect the majority of what cannot be paid right away.
