I need to find the exact quote and link, but in 2009 (I think) when this cavalcade of leftists came to DC, one was overheard in a conversation saying they were there to “manage America’s decline”. This administration has had absolutely no intention of furthering American Exceptionalism (neither have the current crop of Dem’s). The last decent democrat I can remember was Zell Miller; anything outside that, pure socialist scum.
The US is so much more than Obama and everything he can do to diminish it. The government can shut down, and live goes on like nothing has happened. That is the real America at work.

I know! This morning I had to step over the body of a dead child lying in my driveway. Looks like she was starved to death. Then, on the way to work, two houses were burning to the ground because the fire department was closed. When I got to work a madman with a machete was holding three women hostage in the lobby and no police came. The lights were out anyway because the electric plant had been shut-down. So instead I drove to Starbucks but it was closed since there had been no coffee or bagel deliveries. Dejected, I turned to go back home but the front tires of my car fell through the road where a construction crew had, before the shutdown, been working. As I opened the door to walk a 767 airplane fell from the sky, igniting a huge fire where it fell onto a hospital. Terrified by this time I ran home to discover it had been invaded by illegals who were planting corn in the family room. I managed to sneak inside and up to my office and I’m writing on my laptop while hiding under my desk, but I think I hear them coming up the stairs and one is holding a large corn-husker and oh, no, h e’ s re chi ng fo me...........................................

Saw a good illustration in an episode of BBC Top Gear where the lads drove from Miami to New Orleans just a few months after Katrina. Then they expressed shock that the government of the World’s Lone Superpower could not put everything in town back together again in that amount of time.
