I have been on FR for a few years. I have NEVER once seen a self-described L/libertarian “rush to argue for drugs”.

Not once.

It’s brought up in EVERY thread by the detractors though. Doesn’t matter what the original subject was, you idiots always haul drugs in to the discussion to derail the original point being made.

Limited government? “Y’all jus’ wan’ drugs! N’ Drugs ‘r bad. M’KAy?”

RKBA. “Naw... Y’all just wanna protect yer’ dope stash.”

Low taxes. “Y’all just don’t want to pay sales tax on your herion.”

Repeal Obamacare? “You’d think y’all’d be for it since you’d be able to use your EBT card at the Mary Jane dispensary in Denver!”

Don’t sweat it that much. As a lurker here, I have seen right-libertarians blow their opponents out of the water in intellectual debates on this forum for years. In fact, they usually make their authoritarian statists opponents look like idiots with severe Narcissistic Personality Disorder - no matter what end of the political spectrum they claim to be on.

Well, maybe that isn't the best way to phrase it. I've been here since '01 and I cannot recall a single thread involving Libertarians where drug legalization did not eventually become the central issue, and where the most vigorous proponents of legalization were Libertarian posters.

Full disclosure: I was briefly a registered Libertarian. I made the error of getting involved with the local Libertarian activists. Big mistake. The people I met were universally pro-abort, pro-drug and anti-religious. I quickly left.

Yep. And you’ll notice the “detractors” are the same four or five posters, the self appointed Definers Of All That Is Conservative And Of All That Is Not, who are probably outnumbered 30:1 by the small “l” libertarians here.
