Don’t regret it.
I did it two weeks ago.
Before I shrugged, I was paying around 6k to the bank and 2k to the local property tax collector, every month.
I now enjoy a total income of about that much every year, and I am not required to file an income tax return. Mortgage, zero, on a large and wonderful house; property tax, somewhere around 40 a month.
My only regret is that I don’t have the gift of convincing others to do likewise. If enough productive people did shrug, the government would promptly surrender without a shot fired.
