An unnamed senior Israeli official was quoted as having told the newspaper that Netanyahu will say in his speech on Tuesday that Iran currently has 219 kilograms (482 pounds) of enriched uranium, which is enough to produce a nuclear weapon. …

The Sunday Times also reported that during Netanyahu’s meeting with President Barack Obama in Washington on Monday, the Israeli prime minister will present Obama with an intelligence dossier containing evidence that Iran is stepping up its nuclear program. …

Sorry, but this is just another call for help! I don’t expect that our - ah hell,I expect the US department of whatever to ignore this just as they do most things.

This is going to be another failure for them but probably a success in the media. Sorry, come on folks, do you really believe them? Too late anyway.

“Very long trip, even for F-15I and F-16I. Not to mention routes around and the difficulty of tanking with hostiles in between.”

I’ve read Israel has the most advanced drones in the world. If they attack it will be with expendable drones. But the nuclear sites are too widely situated, too deep and protected for drones. The easier way is to hit the oil fields. No oil, no money, no bombs.

Israel will be vilified. Oil prices will soar. Iran will likely cut off the Persian Gulf to stop other oil from getting to the world to put even more pressure on Israel. (Iran has 30-70 thousand mines. The only way to stop them from deploying would be to hit them in the warehouses. But even 10 mines would close the straights as nobody would sale without insurance.)

Netanyahu telling Obama this is worse than a waste of time. Presenting details and proof will help Obama to determine Israel’s methods and techniques that can then be leaked to the Iranians. Obama has no intention of ever stopping the Iranians, but only to help them over the finish line.

Hmmm, why do I have a feeling that Iran can last longer with NO BOMBS than the West can with NO OIL............

Iran supplies 13%. Opec could make up the difference easily if they could get it out of the Persian Gulf. The US is the only country that could clear mines and guarantee passage. It would take a huge US Navy presence. I don’t think we could do it with our current commander and chief who would use the crisis to move his own agenda forward. It wouldn’t do to solve the problem too soon.

It would be better to deal with the issue now rather than wait until Iran has produced some unknown number of bombs and clandestinely distributed them to western countries to use as extortion. (That’s most likely what they’d do. For a variety of reasons it would be much more effective at achieving their goals than launching them from home.)

Oh, and one other thought. The Iranian government is fragile. The world-wide boycott has made food and fuel outrageously expensive. This is probably the bargaining chip Obama will use to get their signature on a paper that will “guarantee peace in our time.” But once the oil is gone the government is gone also.
