Obamacare has your medical records

Obamacare created a database, the Health Claims Data Warehouse (HCDW), into which all health care claims submitted for exchange members, Medicare/Medicaid/FEP/CHIP members and PCIP members will be uploaded, stored, and queried. Explained as a way to provide statistical analysis of health care expenditures, the database contains and allows queries to retrieve the following information:

i. Health care procedures performed on the individual in the form of ICD, CPT and other appropriate codes.
j. Health care diagnoses in the form of ICD codes, and treatments, including prescribed drugs, derived from clinical medical records.

Health Claims Data Warehouse (HCDW)

"OPM uses identifiable data to create person-level longitudinal records, which are long-term health records that allow us to examine individual health information over time."

Gee, doesn't that sound wonderful?

The purpose of this system of records is to provide a central database from which OPM may analyze costs and utilization of services associated with FEHBP to ensure the best value for both enrollees and taxpayers. OPM collects, manages, and analyzes health services data that health insurers and administrators provide through secure data transfer for the program. OPM's analysis of the data includes the cost of care, utilization of services, and quality of care for specific population groups, geographic areas, health plans, health care providers, disease conditions, and other relevant categories. The information contained in the database assists in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of care delivered by health care providers to the enrollees by facilitating robust contract negotiations, health plan accountability, performance management, and program evaluation. OPM uses identifiable data to create person-level longitudinal records, which are long-term health records that allow us to examine individual health information over time. Access to personally identifiable information is highly restricted to personnel needed to create person-level longitudinal records and to select OPM analysts using the database for analytical purposes. (ibid)

As usual, thanks be to God, the federal government is technically inept and hasn't yet figured out how to create data feeds from all insurers in all states, or defined a data structure, or any of the other tasks necessary to implement this monstrosity. It's only a matter of time, however. Unless stopped, this data warehouse will make the NSA look like Romper Room.

No one is talking about this and the lack of conversation concerns me. Please ask your congresscritters about this and make your displeasure known.

They will have Hollywood’s, too. I can’t wait to watch the Hollywood drones tell me how lovely Obamacare is after their records are bought.

Yeah, mine should be rather boring. They’ve had mine for years. I’m retired military and my primary provider is on base.

Enjoy it while you can weasels, it’ll all go away before long; one way or the other, your “law” is going to be shoved up your arses.

Prior to the ACA, the fedgov was already paying for 46% of USA healthcare (Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans, fed employees, etc).

I’m sure the ACA will make them the majority dispenser of healthcare.

So they will pretty much control the systems.

Obama has found it very easy to advance his narrow ideological agenda of failure-prone Marxism.

4 years after Obama conned his Democrats into passing the Federal takeover of the cash cow of Medical Insurance, the PC, Doormat Republicans are finally timidly suggesting defunding that Federal takeover.

Without the weak, PC, Doormat Republicans Boehner and McConnell being stupidly kept in their respective leadership positions by truly cowardly House and Senate Members, Obama Medical Insurance “Care” Takeover would have been defunded long ago.

The primal yearning of the 47 % who pay no personal Federal Income tax is to belong to a tribe where all of their choices are dictated to them by their arrogant tribal leader.

This a common trait of those who have low self-esteem.

In that sense, Obamanation is truly a cult.

Freedom is defined in the dictionary as follows:
1.) Exemption or liberation from slavery or imprisonment.
3.) Liberty of choice or action.

Most of the 47 % riding in the “free” wagon seek out slavery, and lack of personal choice.

They thus feel safe.

Liberty is defined in the dictionary as follows:
1.) The state of being exempt from the domination of others or from restricting circumstances; freedom.
5.) The power of voluntary choice: freedom from necessity.
6.) Individual Liberty: Freedom from restraint in the performance of rights outside of government control.

Most people who are getting a free ride in the wagon where 47 % pay no personal Federal Income Taxes, are terrified of making a voluntary choice.

The 47 % would prefer that they be under government control where the choices are made for him.

All of this societal wussiness has made it very easy for B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, to advance his narrow ideological agenda of European-style, failure-prone, Marxism in spite of PC, Doormat Republican token “opposition.”

BTW, unlike taxes, Federal Obama ‘care’ Insurance charges can be increased EVERY YEAR to whatever % the present and future arrogant leaders of Obamanation wants.

BTW, BTW, the free-loading 47 % will always vote for the Candidate for POTUS approved by Obamanation.

A Federal Act by which, under threat of criminal penalty, all government medical records outside of limited statutory parameters, identifiable to one or more individuals, must be destroyed, and that purchasing, sharing, or otherwise obtaining such records without a court warrant shall in future be prohibited.

I had a friend who grew up in the USSR. We talked about life in the USSR. After telling me how much control the Government had over EVERYONE'S life, she said 'maybe it is better that way, you don't have to make any decisions for yourself'. Heartbreaking. She has now been in this country for over 30 years. It is NOT better that way!!!
