A Louisiana pastor was shot to death while preaching in church, and the suspected gunman was arrested after surrendering to police, authorities said on Saturday.

Woodrow Karey, 53, faces a charge of second degree murder in the slaying late on Friday of Pastor Ronald J. Harris Sr. at the Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said. Lake Charles is 190 miles west of New Orleans.

Karey walked into the church, shot Harris twice with a shotgun and then fled, Myers said.

About 50 to 60 people were in the church at the time of the shooting, Myers said. "It is quite shocking and I am imagine it was chaotic," she said.

Harris twice with a shotgun and then fled

Hater Joe Biden's weapon of choice.

Hmm, I wonder if Pastor Harris was providing Mrs. Karey with “private” counseling...

Second degree? What the heck? He drives up to the church, walks in, shoots the pastor, and then runs away. If that’s not premeditation, what is?

My first thought, too.

There seems to be a lot of violent mental illness in the “black community”.

I can almost guarantee it. Someone quoted to me that blacks were more "religious" than whites once. Going to church doesn't make you more religious. This is where they pick up their next "ho".

My neighbor is helping one right now. She gave the pastor some and figured he owed her some church money. She tore a check out of the church checkbook and filled it out. She got paroled after a few months and needs a place to stay. They are trying to help. The mess at their house is hopeless. IMO, either the pastor or her uncle is still hittin it.

Why is your neighbor helping her?

Blacks might be more “religious,” but they continue to vote for a party which opposes everything the Bible teaches.

Reminds me of the joke about the priest telling the nun about Gabriel's horn and what she had to do to it.

In Louisiana, a 1st Degree Murder charge has additional elements that must be met. Beyond premeditation, I believe one of the requirements is that some other listed crime be involved. Armed robbery, aggravated rape, etc. Which would explain why there are so many cold-blooded murderers in Angola, but relatively few on death row (2nd Degree Murder in LA doesn't have a capital punishment option).

BTW, the black woman on parole and her 15 year old son are now attending my neighbors church every Wednesday and Sunday. She is considering getting re Baptized in their church. She doesn't yet see the point of difference between cultures. Giving preachers BJ's and having kids out of wedlock is just the way it's done. It's not like it's wrong or anything.

I figger when it's all done and over with, ( and you know that's commin), she will probably leave in the middle of the night and steal their TV after the preacher pistol whips my neighbor because they have no guns and are Democrats..
