Shortages of beds, doctors and nurses in the Baltimore VA Medical Center’s emergency room resulted in nearly half of a sample of patients spending more than 6 hours at the facility, including one who waited more than 24 hours, according to a critical inspection report released this month. …

The Department of Veterans Affairs inspector general’s office detailed the shortcomings in a report that criticized the hospital’s leadership for lacking policies to provide on-call doctors and nurses to boost staffing when patient volume surged. Backups in treating patients led to some being examined in the emergency department’s triage area, without privacy, the report said. …

This is a problem at most, if not all, VA ER’s.

That’s OK, though. Soon it will be a problem at ALL ER’s thanks to owebomination care.

The VA will look like the Mayo Clinic in short time

The first question for anyone to answer is why would any doctor want to get into medicine or stay in medicine?

In five years it will look like what the military knows about care.

When a doctor says, ‘what do they want? it’s free medical care’ things look different.

We went to the ER for a child’s foot injury and asked after signing in and getting registered how long it might be

Ugh, the wait is about four hours, at the moment

And it WAS

Military families are not only used to this, they’re used to being told hey what do you want, it’s free? But they are used to not getting public recognition for it

And it isn’t free. Ask any recruiter who says the pay is a little low comparatively, and you’ll have to be separated from family and get shot at quite a bit, but medical care is a huge benefit

Obamacare WILL be considered free

VA. and military care will look really good soon. And that is not a good thing

Of course, evenVA care will get ripped apart soon after No way will the country allow VA health care to be better than theirs

Here in Maine ‘Togus’ is the VA medical center.

It is centrally located near the state capitol, but away from the large cities (Portlan,Bangor, and Lewsiton/auburn). As a result, it’s too far for the average urban trash to get to.

I have received great care here for 12 years. The place might not have the latest and greatest equipment, but the staff is the best I’ve ever seen in a VA faciltiy.

I have had no problem with my local VA hospital care (they don't do ER). Of, course I think it may be one of the nation's top rated VA hospital. Parking is bad and drug costs are high but the people are really nice.

That’s because it’s in Maine. In general, nursing care in Maine is top notch.

Glad to hear Togus took good care of you.
