Qatar’s Slave Trade Death Toll
Zero Hedge ^ | 09/28/2013 | Tyler Durden

The Egyptians dispensed with the life of their slaves in the construction of the pyramids as if they were nothing but throw-away products before that had even been invented in the modern day and age in which we live. Today, Qatar is doing the self-same thing. There are 1.2 million migrant workers (the vast majority of them are in the construction industry) in Qatar and they are working flat out under the pressure of the Qataris to get the country ready to host the2022 World Cup. But, those modern-day slaves are set to die at the rate of a dozen every week before the projects get finalized. That means there will be 600 deaths every year related to the construction of stadiums and infrastructure for a leather ball that will be kicked around a field for the pleasure of the millions that will be ready to watch the matches played in 9 years.

HA! Oh...those primitve cultures...ahh, we are just so not diverse and culturally intolerant of slavery and stoning.
Gosh, we need to be MORE tolerant.

Qataris are the world’s most arrogant people, and we have been sending billions there for years. Qatar is the armpit of the world. The TCNs (Third Country Nationals) are treated like slaves and Americans little better.

Good thing we haven’t built Keystone XL, or the poor Qatari’s might feel a pinch!

Actually, there is good evidence the construction workers on the pyramids were well treated. And they probably weren't slaves, or at least no more so than all Egyptians were by definition slaves of the Pharaoh.

Slaves didn’t build the pyramids—its a myth. Egyptian peasants built them and for their efforts they got meat at every meal (something there never got much of at home) all the beer they could drink, Pizza (no tomato sauce unfortunatly) The best healthcare in the Ancient World, and a dispensation from paying taxes for a year! Lastly, the greatest gift of all-—the promiss of Eternal Life! To do this was an honor—they would not let slaves do this.

Not as sure of the details as you are, but Egyptian agriculture left the peasants with little to do for several months a year. Why not just draft them during this period, instead of paying the cost of a permanent labor force?

The peasants were used when the Nile Flooded and they could not work—Boats did a great deal of the heavy lifting—data from the graves indicated both men and women were part of the project—men did the heavy work—women made the beer, pizzas, meats, washed clothes, etc... They were the support structure. They go to go to heaven too for the effort—to dance and party with the gods forever!

Most Egyptologists believe the pyramids were built primarily by paid workers, not slaves.
