Why is the tea party struggling?

(a) It reached too far too soon

(b) It confused who its political enemies were

(c) It hired the wrong marketing firm

(d) It let false impressions browbeat reality

(e) It's not — everything is fine, move along, there’s nothing to see here

We boiled down those multiple-choice answers from perspectives five conservative voters and registered Republicans provided to Yahoo News on Thursday in reaction to a Gallup poll that said Americans’ support of the tea party is near an all-time low. Twenty-two percent, the polling firm says, back the tea party. That’s down from 32 percent shortly after the 2010 midterm elections, when the GOP captured the U.S. House. Half of respondents said they neither support nor oppose the tea party, or simply have no opinion.

So what is wrong with the tea party — if anything? Here’s how conservatives and some tea party members diagnosed it.

Why has the lame stream media recognized the Tea Party just now? Maybe because a bunch of establishment RINOs were exposed for the fraud that they are and 2014 might be the end for more than a few trophies. Let's bag a whole heard of them Freepers!

The teaparty and it’s friends only have to vote in force and mass and they will see.

The only thing that is wrong with the Tea Party, is that too many of them still think they can be the ‘silent majority’ and let everybody else do the heavy lifting. Frustrated much there EBH?

Simple answer- because the lamestream media successfully was able to label the Tea party as something that it is not.

Perception is everything in modern America today. Unfortunately.

The discrediting starts with this made from scratch poll. I wonder if the poll will be taken again after the torches , bonfires, and pick axes are employed in congressional realignment come January ‘14.

Morons in the media were saying the Tea Party was dead just six months ago. Now it’s ‘struggling’.

A good strategy for the author would be to ignore the Tea Party. Don’t waste any more time thinking about them. They’re done. Toast. Yeah, that’s it. See? That wasn’t so hard.

From the article: “This week, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, reminded me of the early days of the tea party when compromise was not an option.”

COMPROMISE. What RINOs eat for breakfast.

Compromise = weakness = surrender = political correctness = loss of liberty.

The Republican party is a pansy that gets a wedgie from Democrats on a daily basis.

The Tea Party is right not to compromise on anything.

If Obama’s in trouble of his own making, it’s time for a ‘Tea Party A Spent Force’ article!

They’re so spent, in fact, that one of their leaders monopolized media attention for speaking against socialized medicine for 21 hours straight.

They’re so spent that the Dem-controlled White House and Senate and RINO-controlled House are all but paralyzed.

Really, really spent! We mean it this time!

Pop quiz: What’s wrong with the tea party?

NOTHING!

What's is wrong is doooooshes in the MSM, like the jack wagon who wrote this piece. That's what is wrong. And PS Brainiac. There is no tea party per se. Just different groups of patriots banding together in this time of constitutional crisis.

Agreed!

However, while that may be, until, say, some/all of those highly visible RINOs are "primaried out" in 2014 ... it all means absolutely nothing.

In the interim, starting recall initiatives now might build/sustain anger and keep momentum going until 2014.

Words are not actions and actions are not results.

It’s an easy answer.. The problem with the TEA party is that they are not promising any free goodies from the treasury for all the people to enjoy without having to work for it. Not popular! When the benefits are rolling in, freedom seems very risky and dangerous.

It seems to me that when you get the most powerful federal police force on the planet - IRS - doing everything legal and illegal to stop you, along with every major media outlet disrespecting and lying bout you, you might just need to reconnoiter a bit!

Add to that, liberal members of our own party despising you, it’s a miracle there is any life left in this movement at all.

e would be the almost correct answer. The Tea Party is kicking butt and taking names. That’s why all of the left which includes RINO’s are trying desparately to do a smack down on the Tea Party. 2014 is getting close.

The Tea Party folks, whoever they are, are off doing productive jobs for the moment. But they’ll be back...
