Leaders in the USSR might have cared for the poor, too. Did it matter? No. Whether they cared or not, the wealth redistributionist systems the USSR created could not deliver the goods. Everyone had free health care for what it was worth, but good luck getting quality care if you didn’t have government connections.
Have no doubt. Representative Frederica Wilson probably appeals to many voters, but her points aren’t new. The October Revolution in Russia was in 1917. Unfortunately, Rep. Wilson can’t deliver the goods. She might try until she runs out of other people’s money, but her way leads to poverty and despair. She cares! Keep that in mind when you have to queue up for hours for a free aspirin.
BTW, Venezuela cares, too. They can’t even wipe their own asses, but they care.

Seriously, if she made this comment as anything but absolute hyperbole, she should be remanded to the mental health authorities for suffering some serious delusions before she takes a hammer and a wrench to someone.
This from the Democrat party that is taking away people’s health insurance they can afford and forcing them to take plans they can’t afford (if they even have the opportunity to get one anyway), forcing people to either buy plans they can’t afford or pay a penalty (making the situation even worse - meaning they will have even less opportunity to find a doctor), taking away people’s choice of doctor, resulting in fewer doctors and medical facilities being available, destroying R & D in medical device research, cutting back the availability of medical devices, setting up an advisory board to decide who deserves to get treatment, making it mandatory for health care providers to ask personal questions about the patient’s sex lives that go into a database that have no relevance to their treatment, keeps on increasing the debt and therefore the debt service so less and less resources are available, etc.
