When my husband and I were dating this area of Forest Park was the “lovers lane”, and also a prime sledding spot in the winter. I never heard of anyone being robbed there.
Sometime after we left St Louis, gays took over Art Hill. Even in broad daylight, the road behind the Art Museum was parked full while trolling men met up in the woods.
Now St Louis is at the top of the most dangerous cities list. When I go to my hometown, I go armed.
I lived in stlew 88 to 92. Played handball in forest park 3 or 4 times a week. Allways got done before dark.
I lived dowtown across from the train station and worked at the old court house/arch complex. Interesting times there.
