Chet was the Sarah Brady of dogs. After some exchanges with him, I came to the personal conclusion that he delighted in every pit bull attack story he could find, taking glee in every tragedy that supported his agenda. It was apparent he scrubbed the internet for every negative story he could find based on the obscurity of his sources and the age of some of the stories.
I cant’ believe no one seems to remember “tabitha soren.” If there was even the slightest connection to animals she(?) posted an pro animal rant. And even when there wasn’t... something like “10 hikers killed in bla bla bla” and the reply would be “we kill thousands of animals a day”

That was his charm.
And if you were to scour the internet for similar stories about other breeds the paucity would be immense.

Not at least in part because journalists, law enforcement, and even animal control are notorious for reporting other breeds as "pit bulls."

"Pit bull attack" just makes a sexier headline, even if it was a boxer, Lab/Rott mix, etc. But just keep promoting the inflammatory falsehoods. It's the most appropriate tribute one might pay Chet.

Please point me to 4 stories Chet posted where the breed was incorrectly identified (not I won’t even go into the fact you are splitting hairs and no confuses, say, a Shepherd, with a PB). Of course, I expect to see your posts on those threads making the correction.
I solemnly promise if I see a story incorrectly identifying another breed as a PB I will be the first to point out the error.

It is nice here — very quiet, very friendly.
We gave up weather and things to do (I saw the State Fair last year — that’ll hold me for a decade or so), but the trade offs in attitude (Conservative here) and friendliness and travel time make up for those many times over.
