Correct, and actually the "conventional wisdom" of his Weekly Std. too. Authors should not write that way. News anchors do it too, putting a quote before saying who spoke it. Ignorant.

Exactly! Especially when the intro is what readers have been used to receiving from the rag publishing the article!

Lead with the thesis!

Yeah, it’s misleading, but that’s one of the few tricks these hacks know to make a story “interesting”. Shock the reader/viewer up front enough, and you might grab their attention.
