Boy a few infinitesimal advertising dollars (in big oil terms) spent for a bunch of ads exposing what the government is doing to our energy supply and how it affects our cost would be money well spent.

Although I'd like that, the Companies need to watch their backs. Complain publicly and 'surprising' and 'unexpected' IRS audits and DOJ investigations start to show up. We have de-evolved into a lawless society. Washington, DC uses it forces to wield power, and they will make up the law as they go along.

They have tried walking the tightrope with a power abusive government watching their every move.

If they do no change tactics, they cannot expect any change in the abusive power of government.
