Ted Cruz On Conference Call: Fellow Republicans Must Vote ‘No’ On Friday Cloture Vote

“Any Senator who votes yes (on Friday’s cloture vote) is voting to give Harry Reid the power” to fund Obamacare. “That vote is the fight. Vote no on cloture.”

The Senator repeatedly called tomorrow’s cloture vote which would make it possible to pass funding for Obamacare “Harry Reid’s cloture vote.”

Cruz was not shy in saying that all 46 Republicans were not on board — and that there were some, although he named no names or numbers, who were considering voting with Reid. This is the vote that counts, he said. The “cloture on the bill — vote no,” he repeated.

“A show vote” is how Cruz labeled an expected earlier vote on an amendment to strip the bill of Obamacare funding — and that all 46 Republicans are expected to vote no. But he repeated that this was merely a “show vote.” Which is to say the amendment is designed to give constituents the belief that a senator has voted against funding Obamacare — when they know ahead of time the amendment will fail and that President Obama has already won that vote.

I am tweeting all the pro-Reid Republicans to tell them to vote NO on cloture. I am tweeting “You said you’d fight O-care. Vote NO on cloture. Keep your word!”

I have to be tied to a computer for my work so I can’t do much more than holler from my chair....but I’ll be hollering right up until the vote occurs. Hopefully afterwards I will have 46 thank you tweets to send out.

Because ObamaCare is such a fundamental danger to liberty, if the Republicans decline to stop ObamaCare when they have the chance, I will be forced to change my relationship with that party. This means I will be far more inclined to support and vote for Libertarians in the future.

Take down the names of the Republican senators who back Harry Reid by voting for cloture so that Reid only has to have 51 votes to fund ObamaCare. Everyone on that infamous list should be fired from his seat at the earliest primary opportunity.

The second vote on ObamaCare will be purely symbolic, giving the GOP Friends of Harry a fig leaf to try to fool their more gullible constituents in future campaign ads by saying they voted against ObamaCare. That is shameful.
