House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, confirmed Thursday that the House will not approve the Senate version of the bill, but he has declined to say how Republicans will respond. The House will likely vote over the weekend, volleying back to the Senate another stopgap bill with roughly 24 hours before a shutdown takes place.

"I do not expect (a shutdown) to happen," Boehner said. "The American people don't want the president's health care bill, and they don't want the government to shut down. Republicans are listening."

Go, Boehner, GO!! Hold the line!! Defund obamacare!!

The GOP needs to turn the Dem’s terminology on its head and start talking about a “clean” bill being one that is free of Obamacare funding, and a “dirty” bill being one that includes Obamacare funding.

Sorry, Mr. Robinson, but Boehner is firmly GOPe. This is posturing on his part at best.

It's really disgusting when Schumer and Corker sound exactly the same.

Hold the line, Mr. Speaker.

Act according to our Constitution, by standing with Senator's CRUZ and LEE!

Give the Speaker our encouragement and tell him you're praying for him to hold strong, and please do pray for him.

I say leverage the situation even further by threatening to take Boehner's cigarettes away.

Boehner without his "deck of butts" would do anything to get them back.

In all seriousness.. just maybe the Good Lord got through to the right few.

If you missed it, Judge Andrew Napolitano was on the Special report panel tonite. He said that if Boehner puts together a coalition of "big-government Republicans and Pelosi Democrats, against the wishes of the overwhelming majority of the House GOP caucus, then Boehner is done as Speaker."

Here's the link The Judge's comments start at the 1:00 minute mark.

Corker blamed the two Republicans for delaying a vote because "y'all have sent out releases and e-mails and you want everybody to be able to watch, and it just doesn't seem to me that that's in our nation's interest."

Is this guy an inbred?

Boehner’s plan is to let the Senate strip out the “defund” provision as they’re expected to do, and counter with a 1-year delay on everything related to the ACA, which is more likely to pass. It may actually be the superior plan anyway, as “defund” only covers items under the CR umbrella, and the individual subsidies scheduled to kick on on Jan 1 are not included in that - to me, that’s the part that must be stopped because once people start getting transfer payments, history shows that you’ll never get the program to stop.

If Boehner can stand tall and deliver on this rhetoric, he deserves the praise and support he receives for this act.

Just as each and every legislative act he undertakes deserves scrutiny and appropriate reaction.

Hold the line, Mr. Speaker!!! Follow the clear, unwavering direction provided by your constituents, and the rest of the United States!

Ok, I have a question, because I am totally confused on all of this. If we “defund” obamacare, do the automatic things set to start up Jan 1 still happen? Do the tax increases that we already have, stop(haha). The 1 year delay that Boehner is thinking of, isn’t that the same thing that the Dem’s wanted to do, so we are playing right in to their hands. To me, the ONLY thing to do to make this totally go away is to go straight for Repeal and accept nothing else. If we just defund it, it’s still there isn’t it? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I

Glad Boehner found the courage to do what's right. Good on him for finally remembering why he's there

We need to let them (the House GOP) know when they get it right, as loudly and as vehemently as we let them know when they get it wrong. And this is the RIGHT thing to do.

God bless Ted Cruz for taking his stand and shining a flood light on this. You KNOW the Old Boys club is hating him for it.

What was that saying? "I'd Rather be despised by the despicable than admired by the admirable?"

"I do not expect (a shutdown) to happen," Boehner said.

Well now. That's a darn shame. I'm all for the government "shutting down" if it will stop them from destroying out nation.

When did Americans start becoming such cowards? Seems to me most people are afraid of their own shadows. A bunch of impotent, pear-headed, loud mouthed, cowering little chihuahuas yapping forth one complaint after another as they hide in their little corner of the world unwilling to do what is necessary to make the changes we need to make to get back to the basics that made this country what it was before these liberal nutjobs got control. Small government is what this nation was founded with. As with everything else in life, when things are not working out the way they are supposed to, get back to the basics.

PERIOD!

They should just shut the whole dagnabit Leviathan monster down.

Another strategy is to only fund a few essensual things of government like the military, highways, the things that people really need to survive that why the Democrats and the Media can't say that the Republicans have shut the government down.

The cynic in me says of coyese he won’t accept a clean bill because the Senate sent back a dirty bill.
All about the word parsing.

.........let us hope Bodhner/Cantor put their brains in the freezer and find someone that has one! Then, maybe we will get a “SMART” response for a change.

I like Pat Buchanan’s idea. Send them one CR at a time by department starting with the Defense department. Then dare Reid to stop the military checks.
