and ultimately detrimental to the Republican party Ah, yes, the Republican Party that has always been so supportive of him. It's refreshing for someone in Washington to stand on principle once a decade or so. Maybe the party shouldn't have long ago abandoned the principles -- if they ever really believed in them.
