I wonder if this is behind the sudden, nationally-coordinated effort to raise wages at fast-food restaurants. Most of those employees are young people, and if they don't get a substantial raise SOON they will really feel the impact of having to buy health insurance, even at subsidized rates. It will feel like a big pay cut.

Yup. How about a “tax” increase. :)
And if Conservatives spin it that way, it could mean a lot in future elections.
