Watching Ted Cruz's majestic, twenty-one hour speech in defense of defunding ObamaCare was thrilling.
Observing all the small-minded critics on both sides of the aisle go after him as though he were a serial killer was so distressing. I am reminded of a fine film, made in 1941, titled People Will Talk. In the film, a horrible little man, played by Hume Cronyn (looking eerily like Harry Reid), strives to bring down a fine man, a doctor (Cary Grant). The man tries every dirty trick in the book and fails. But just before the end, the doctor's friend, Shunderson, played by Finlay Currie, says the following (written by Joseph Mankiewicz):

True
Know this all you Republicans who have spent the last few weeks trashing Sen. Cruz, especially you John McCain: Each of you has revealed for all to see what you are made of and the voters will not forget.
American Thinker calls out John McNuts by name! BRAVO!
I hope you are right, but I am not so confident. The people of Arizona have known he was a POS for quite some time now, but they keep sending him back to Washington.
Thank God we can vote for Sen. Cruz here in Texas! What is the matter with you Arizona voters??? You must have trouble figuring out the big words, like “freedom.”
John McCain makes Benedict Arnold look good.
It’s true
And it is very small of the rest to worry about who is going to get blamed for a shut down
Defund this. The power is with the house of r. If they relinquish power out of fear of anything we are going to get stuck with this. Many people will like this thing. And as long as they the takers have the right to vote, we are stuck with this.
Cruz is the one to turn to and he is warning that he can’t get rid of it once its in
Rand Paul did one a few months ago. Does anyone remember that?
Agreed. Patriots won't forget, but there are no longer enough of them to make an electoral difference.......
I am afraid you are right. When enough true patriots realize we can never again make an electoral difference, what does it lead to?
We will. If the libs want Obamacare and Hillary and other such nonsense; they will find out what real slavery is.
The movie was actually filmed in 1951 and was Mankiewicz’ way of protesting the McCarthy hearings, the Hollywood Ten trial, the blacklist, our involvement in Korea, etc. It depicts Dr. Noah Praetorius as a rebel against small town conventionality, an easy target for Hollywood.
Not the best analogy for describing the Republican backstabbers aiming their daggers at Senator Cruz following his heroic speech, IMO.
BTW, watch for the libs to go over the transcript of that twenty-one hour effort with a fine tooth comb. They hope to find more oppo than just “green eggs & ham”.
So let’s hope and pray that the states of Arizona and Kentucky can come up with a good Tea-Party Conservative to defeat the losers currently holding the seats in the Senate. That and then the people of said states get out in droves and campaign and vote for them.
Uh, yeah....and it was impressive...on the use of drones....
This from Cruz was epic and will be hard to forget....and, it’s on YouTube!
Meh, good call on the movie...but it’s still one of my faves tho it reeks of liberalism....I get why it was used as an example.
I hope you are right, but I am not so confident. The people of Arizona have known he was a POS for quite some time now, but they keep sending him back to Washington.

The 17th Amendment should be immediately repealed. Senators were supposed to be appointed by the lege of the several states for a very, very good reason.
