The headline says it all, not to take away from the rest.

Sure, just like that, pack up and go overseas.
Or go to a “sock hop” for dentists.

Do you guys have young kids?

EEE, block grants ought to go away, too. Block grants are merely another way by which the Federal government manages a wealth redistribution plan.
The money that comes back to states as block grants was originally extorted from the taxpaying citizens of those, and other, states.
Drop the block grants, reduce the cash flow into the federal government, and let the states manage their own poverty programs, welfare, etc.

I accept your definition and application. I think part of being a dictator is exterminating real political opposition. It’s what 0bama is doing to “fundamentally transform” America. There is nothing benevolent about that, in the ordinary usage of the word.

I still think we should target the worst
insurance company by sending them sick people.

Thank you very much.

My plan is simple. Abide by the constitution. Leave healthcare and insurance to the states and the people. Free enterprise is far superior to socialism.

Socialism = epic fail.

Freedom = we win, they lose.

Well yeah but... The Supreme Court decided it was okay.

Of course I realize that the Court was wrong but that takes a revolution to decide differently...

Amen. And that’s the way our constitution sets it up.

Appears the court is controlled by the dictator and his party.

Furthermore, Obamacare destroys the constitutional limits on government. It sets the SCOTUS approved precedent that there are no limits whatsoever on what the government can force on the people, nor any individual right that cannot be violated, nor any states right that cannot be violated. The central government is all powerful. That's totally upside down and inside out.

And it also eliminates the separation of powers. It allows the president and the SCOTUS to rewrite legislation without congressional input or approval.

It in fact, nullifies our constitution and bill of rights and turns America into a benevolent dictatorship.

Thanks a lot John Roberts.

If, in the course of your day, you encounter a liberal, be sure to remind them, “You own ObamaCare”.

Soon enough, they’re going to hate it more than we do. Because it’s theirs.

True. But Obama is using the power of his one party system to maintain his own dictatorial power, ie, the democrats plus the GOP-e RINOS = one party control. The only ones who believe Obama is benevolent are the recipients of his “gifts” and or those cronies in his corrupt party or (corrupt) big business who share in the looting of America. Obviously not all big business is corrupt but there are some (Soros, et al).

Why not? Everything is overseen by licensed dentists. Who are you going to sue when your foreign dentist butchers your mouth?

Neither health care or insurance are enumerated powers for the central government to be involved in or control. Period. They are clearly reserved to the states and the people by the constitution. Doesn't matter how poor people are or how sick. The federal government has no constitutional power to intervene.

Unfortunately, with the passage of the 17th Amendment, the concept of states rights and the 10th Amendment got lost in the shuffle. Prior to passage of the 17th Amendment, Senators to the US Congress were appointed by their respective state legislature. This made them beholden to the state they represented and more willing to fight to preserve states rights.

Passage of the 17th Amendment effectively eradicated their allegiance to their home state and made future Senators, like House representatives, beholden to the power brokers, money men and political groups. IOW, it effectively ended the concept of America as a representative republic and truly made us a "democracy" subject to mob rule.

IMO, the repeal of the 17th Amendment would do wonders to restore the status of states rights and the power of the 10th Amendment by forcing the Senate to, once again, focus on two primary priorities - the business of America and the right of the individual states to control more of what government does within individual state lines than being forced to certain programs by a strong central government. The Founding Fathers gave up a lot to create a balanced system of government in which the individual states were not required to cave to the will of the central (federal) government.

Today, we discuss ad nauseum the abuses of the Obama government, yet none of us are willing to take the necessary next step to put America back in balance with its Constitution. We KNOW what needs to happen, but we are too cowed by a gargantuan central government that has grown far beyond the limits envisioned by the Founding Fathers to the extent that it is now a bully to its own citizens.

And, the next election will only change some of the names and faces associated with the abuse - it will do NOTHING to correct the course of our ship of state.

Agreed. I’ve long held that the 16th and 17th should be repealed to restore our constitutional republic.
