The ‘Life and Death’ of Obamacare – Ted Cruz Takes a Principled Stand

Go, Ted, go… Imagine my pride and love for this man as I got up this morning to find him still speaking — still railing against Obamacare and the Progressives on the Left. On Tammy Bruce, I heard him read “Green Eggs and Ham” from Dr. Seuss to his daughters on the air because he was missing their bedtime.

On Tuesday night, as Senator Ted Cruz (R – TX) continued his quasi-filibuster regarding Obamacare, he began reading the Dr. Seuss classic “Green Eggs and Ham” after reading Bible verses for his two daughters on the floor of the Senate. He said he wanted to read them to bed from the floor of the Senate. He compared the main character’s refusal to eat green eggs and ham to the American public’s refusal of Obamacare.

Cruz eviscerated Obamacare over and over and over… Then he turned his gaze on the Progressive Republicans. We will remember each and every one of you who turned on us.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.” — Samuel Adams

The Washington Times:

In his remarks, he repeatedly took aim at fellow Republicans, urging them to join him in voting against limiting debate on a stopgap spending bill that also defunds Obamacare. Many Republicans said they will vote along with Democrats to proceed with the stopgap bill because as of now it contains the defunding provisions.

Mr. Cruz, though, said it is certain Democrats will be able to strip the defunding provision with a majority vote later in the process, so the only chance to exert influence is early on, when it will take a 60-vote threshold to even proceed with action.

Don’t be fooled… This IS a life and death struggle. The American people know it and what’s more… our leaders know it and don’t give a crap about the American people. Only their power, only their pockets, only their well-being. Ladies and gentlemen… this is not the death of the Tea Party, this is the birth of a revolution. 68% say this is wrong and the rest are ill-informed.

Rates for the young will be high. Men’s rates will jump by 99%, women’s by 62% and it may be much worse than that. Then the new taxes kick in. You think we are in a depression now? Wait till Obamacare takes hold. You ain’t seen nothing yet.

As Ted Cruz goes to Washington and takes a principled stand, America and life as we have always known it, hangs in the balance. Ted Cruz could be our next president in a political earthquake, the likes we have not seen since the ’80s and maybe never. The Left should be very careful what they wish for — they just might get that revolution they so ardently want.

He should read ObamaCare and every so often ask, “Do you understand that paragraph?”, “Do you think your doctor will?”

Ted Cruz goes to Washington and takes a principled stand
*******

Principle. A very rare thing in Washington DC. Cruz has earned the admiration of many for his stand.

.

"Thanks" for posting a great news article about a "genuine" American Patriot, Senator Ted Cruz.

It's a damned shame that the other (r)epublican U.S. Senators are simply girly-men call-boys to Obama and his destructive socialist agenda ... "Juan" McCain, et al ...

America needs a miraculous "Strawberry Nine" moment (Battle of Midway, 1942) moment to survive the onslaught beore us ....

This bull would not have passed muster during the Cold War, and Obambi would be sitting in jail, not motioning to lecturing us about what is and is not.

If liberals had been in the army they would understand the book. Sad hing is we deal with complete morons who refuse cmmunication because they are lazy and corrupt. They are not devoid of critical thinking when they think it suits them. They behave in typical coward convict manner.

To everyone who is in favor of Obamacare:

How can you be for something that Congress and Obama wants for you but refuses to use themselves????????

If it was actually GOOD, the Congress would want it for themselves and NOT for the people of America....

You would think every senator on either side would be there.

yeah, then they complain no one trust government when they dont trust it themselvs.

Funny how people afraid of enlisting in the army and one size fits all health care demand we all wear government mandate boots and same health care. It’s like the women or black equality bull shIt turned into reverse racism. Always act unsettled and a victim to keep power perception is the rule of radical. Well now they’ve had it.

I am not enlisted by the US government, I am a free Citizen.

If people want government patriotism, they can enlist ad participate in the care there.

I also find it ironic that things like medicare for welfarites has not been merged with government tricare first as a matter of consolidation instead of dragging tax payers.

The hypocrites have not their own house in order they already claim they can get ours so.

Dont get me wrong. I love what he is doing. But why didn’t he do this as an actual filibuster? It would have failed, sure, but would have really had a Mr.Smith goes to Washington feel.

“You would think every senator on either side would be there”

Or at least every republican. I see our two RINO’s are MIA. But they always show up to sponsor or vote for every prograssive POS bill that comes along.

Hey, Ted---put up this diagram:

(1) show America what a boondoggle O/Care actually looks like,

(2) show what a massive invasion of privacy this atrocity is.

Shows the mess Ohaha created, and why the WH apparatchiks cannot make it work more than three years after its passage.

Each "box" represents huge organizational beauracracies with people stumbling over themselves; each "arrow" represents hundreds and thousands of information requests and transfers. Those interfaces will have some common calls, but they'll have to be customized to fit each carrier's system and customizations. It seems as though a lot is being left off the "health plan" -- all the costs, all the restrictions, have to be passed along as well.

The thousands of "Navigators"---govt-issue clerks--will offer you "guidance/" And that online calculator...does it tell you how much you're being soaked now, rather than before the saving grace of O'care? Only the deranged, twisted lib/prog mind could dream up the h'care mess.

Not an expert, but from my understanding, it could not be considered a filibuster because there was already a vote scheduled for noon today. If it were a filibuster, he would be blocking a vote.

My husband pointed that out to Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s staff this AM. You cannot read the 2700 pages. Every few lines, it references some Fed. rule. So, the original bill is more like 50,000 pages.

NOBODY read it before voting on it — a crime in itself.

They’ll vote for anything that expands the size of government and the role of congress.
