CV joint grease is better. It’s already black, and filled with powdered moly. Gets right down into your pores....

He probably put the sign on the public easement in front of his home. Cities and villages routinely remove any signs put on any such public property.

Home repair companies always put advertising signs out in front of houses when they do jobs, and the cops never remove them. They are every bit as much an eyesore as this person's sign. There's obviously something else going on here.

It is entirely possible that the Somers Police Department had the “legal” right to remove the sign, though many on the forum say the man’s constitutional right to free speech was violated regardless...

Ummm, the police department doesn't have the right to steal the sign like a thief in the night... This is an outrage.

“Home repair companies always put advertising signs out in front of houses ..”

Yes, but if the business advertising sign is on a public easement the municipality CAN, MAY, COULD, remove it but they generally do not because in the end it is all about revenue generated in building fees, permits, property value taxes, etc.

And personal signs unless they are to praise the municipality and its politicians will be removed at will from public easements. Especially any signs criticizing the local politicians or signs that show that the homeowner is resisting their authority.
