Two Billion Dollars.
I heard this morning (and I'm looking for a source) that $2,000,000,000.00 has been sent in recent years from US tax payers to fund a Somali terrorist group known as al-Shabaab. And what is al-Shabaab now known for? That's right - the terrorist attack on the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya. As I freep this; 68 deaths have been reported with many more injured. And reports are sketchy as to whether or not officials have contained the situation.
What else do we know about al-Shabaab? It seems that it's not enough that the US is funding this group, we now learn that Americans are part of the terrorists who are responsible for the massacre at the mall. (Terror Group That Claimed Kenya Attack Has Recruited Americans Before.)

Naturally I'm still learning - we ALL are still learning the true details of who and what is behind this attack. But the question of US involvement seems appropriate.

I’m expecting a series of attacks like this as a way to disrupt the Christmas shopping and bring what’s left of the economy to it’s knees.
Before someone says “online shopping”, online shopping doesn’t create nearly the amount of seasonal jobs as in store shopping does, in fact a lot of walk in stores in malls will be shutting down.

We have been allowing Somali ‘s to immigrate wholesale for year under humanitarian conditions. Now they are just going back after a free ride to join their fight.
Many of the photos appear to be staged.
I understand that China was making significant progress in their economic relationship with Kenya. This may turn out to be a US vs China thing.
Now that’s an angle I hadn’t stumbled upon before.
Were the deaths staged as well?
I know there is so much misinformation going on, but I am curious what your thoughts are as to how this played/plays out.

We’ve been droning and fighting al-Shabaab for some years now, if my imperfect memory serves me. Kenya has been our proxy in this effort (hence the mall attack). Maybe that $$ figure is the amount spent fighting them?

China and the US are going for the same natural resources. Because of our debt position and long standing commitments to other countries, China is in a better position to offer economic assistance to these countries. And they are not doing it out of the goodness of their heart.
The Libya “revolution” forced the evacuation of some 12,000 Chinese nationals and put a stop to their future plans there... for now. China says bye bye to cheap oil.
Kenya doesn’t have a bad guy, so they will need to be encouraged to leave using different means.... mall “shootings”.
