Pelosi Remarks on ‘When Women Succeed, America Succeeds’
Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi ^ | 09/18/13 | Nancy Pelosi

Posted on 09/24/2013 7:15:33 AM PDT by SES1066

... Paycheck fairness, and that involves raising the minimum wage to a living wage, and we must get that done. It affects our whole country, it affects our families, and it affects our women. And we passed Lilly Ledbetter – the first bill the President signed. And let’s thank our President, I know Valerie Jarrett was here this morning giving a call to arms and we’re so fortunate to have her there and the President in the White House because the agenda of CAP about making progress for our country, is the President’s agenda.

... So, paycheck fairness, of course we have our bills, our bill to do just that. Paycheck fairness and raising the minimum wage. So, thank you, SEIU, for your leadership on the minimum wage issue.

...So we must have paid leave and we have legislation to do it – the Healthy Families Act – to do that. That I think fits comfortably in what you are talking about here. Paid leave – I’m telling you that we’ve, we’ve had for this, I’ll go to the third point. The third point is comprehensive, not comprehensive, quality, affordable child care to unleash the power of women and families in our workforce.

These are points made by the 'Shadow' Speaker of the House [Emeritus] House Democrat Leader, Nancy Pelosi, in a speech at the Center for American Progress [read PROGRESSIVE LEFT SOCIALIST].

I find it illustrative to see what the dreams of "Pass the Bill to See What is in IT" Pelosi desires for our future. You will find no resemblance between what the Founders desired and what she wants!

1) Living wage minimum Federal Wage - Where in the US Constitution?
2) The FMLA entitles eligible employees of covered employers to take unpaid [ Change to PAID! ], job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave.
3) Government required "comprehensive, quality, affordable child care" [All your chillun belong to US!?]

If there was a supreme example of a brainless bimbo, Pelosi would be that example.

Adjectives do not exist that can properly define her stupidity.

(Four letter modifiers excepted, of course.)

Really, should we not consider taking out the cities that actually voted for this ignorant s**t?

Who could not see that coming when the original law passed. Soon if you go to work, you will have to pay an additional tax to support those who do not work i.e. a surtax on EARNE income which means anyone in FMLA paid status will be exempt.

50 years of promises and the Democrats STILL cite the same economic figures from the 1960s.

There are some feminists who insist that housewives should be paid for their “labor” and receive retirement pay, insurance, etc from their spouse.

...affordable child care to unleash the power of women and families in our workforce.

By "families", I presume she means building a child labor force.

That is the same thing that Biden said about Illegals (in US) the other day when he was speaking in Mexico.

My Brother-in-Law owns a sign company on St. Maarten. He and my sister were the only employees no matter how much work there was. They had an Accountant but she owned her own business. She was also the only employee. Why? If you hire an Antillian woman and she gets pregnant. You have to pay her maternity leave UNTIL THE CHILD IS EIGHTEEN!

Interesting that she credits "Valerie Jarrett" before the president, and in greater detail.

Helps to confirm FR speculation as to who's running the show.

I guess that depends on who the woman is. When Nancy Pelosi succeeds, America goes down the crapper.

“when women succeed, America succeeds” (I agree with that mostly, but it is plainly contradicted by the success of a few (presumed) women... Pelosi herself for starters... when Pelosi succeeds, America gets flushed down the sewer...
