How many Somalis in the entire United States?
[Dude, they don’t have to, they are returning US citizens and CBP has no authority to refuse them entry at any port of entry.]
There’s an estimated 50 to 65 U.S. citizens operating with Al-Shabaab. Most of them have probably been tracked by U.S. intelligence since the time they entered Somalia. The State Department has open bounties on Al-Shabaab’s leaders and the U.S. has carried out drone strikes and black raids against them. It’s doubtful any of these guys would try to reenter the U.S. on their real passports. But it’s possible they could try to enter by obtaining a visa under a false identity.
I think it is just a given that hostage situations like this are internationally supported.
