LOUISVILLE, KY, Sept. 20, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In a wide-ranging interview, Cardinal Raymond Burke has issued an emphatic call for pro-abortion Catholic politicians like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to be denied Communion.
The cardinal also spoke about the rapid advance of the homosexual agenda, the decline in catechesis that, he says, has crippled the Churchs response to pressing moral issues of the day, and the growing danger of Christian persecution under an increasingly totalitarian government.

Though this was posted in Religion part Freerepublic, it bears exposure in the News part of Freerepublic, as it involves consequences for Pro-Abortion politicians.
The article goes on to talk about our government being totalitarian. The article talks about how the Cardinal refers to how strongly French Catholics are opposed to Homosexual Marriage (Same Sex).
So there are political and news aspect of this article/interview.
That thread is:
We heard the same for her and Vietnam Kerry a few years ago. Nothing came of it then. Nothing will come of it now.
They should also talk with her also about how she took the words of a sermon she heard in church and twisted them into a vicious partisan attack on her enemies.

Men like the Cardinal could get me back to the church if they would follow through on this. I’m not not saying I’m right about this, just saying what it takes to get me back. I can’t be the only one...
Thank you, dear FRiend, for posting. A lovely picture, and a consolation for me, as well.
Thank you RitaOK, my pleasure!
I believe the good Cardinal says as much in the longer version.
There should be a special grace in Heaven for those who endure, and stay in the Church. The Lord must surely appreciate the companionship, in these evil times, with so many walking away.
If it’s any consolation, there are those in every parish who feel as you, and bear one another up, and suffer gladly for the Lord and for the redemption of many. You are so needed in the battle.
Well Said. I walked away a while ago and with God's grace and a through reading of the scriptures came back into full communion with the Church.
The authentic parishes and convents are the ones growing in numbers.
Cardinals Burke and Chaput, Father George Rutler and many theologians and authors, such as, George Weigel, Scott Hahn and Jimmy Akin, are writing about the relativism, even, and especially the Pope, all three, JPII Benedict and Francis, have vast awareness.
Some (not all) in the USCCB pay no attention to the impacts of ignoring what the culture is doing to itself and to Cathoics, and ignoring the Catechism, with their push on amnesty, and none on this subject, denying Communion to public advocates of abortion, even ignoring the Pope and, as expected, Cardinal Burke, an official at the Vatican, as we expect, like Catholic school boys defying the rules.
But the writers I mentioned are talking about the future of the Church and many parishes and groups are paying attention; getting back to the Catechism and the Vatican, even traditional music, in favor of the campfire girls jingles we endure if we want to cover the basics by attending weekly sunday Mass.
EWTN tv and radio are tuned in, as is the Nat’l Catholic Register (NOT the N C Reporter).
Just saying.
Well said!
Beautiful account, there. I am a convert, whose greatest consolation, in the sense of the deep down Spirit, is derived from Sacred Scripture. The scriptures are miraculous in that way, bearing me up inside a deeply wounded Church, where I am in constant mourning concerning all the countless losses to the sacred, and to piety. God deliver us, and Peace be with you.
Just as consecrated wine can be drunk from a paper cup and still pour upon us the spirit of the lord, so that same wine knows when it touches the lips of a determined and non-repentant sinner.
Where Have You Been,Cardinal Burke?????????????????????
I doubt that she cares.
Yay, Cardinal Burke!
From your lips to the Pope’s ears.....
