Your numbers are way off. The maximum California benefit per week is $450 for an initial claim. That presumes all of the people filing were at the top pay rate which is not likely. But it is an interesting idea that the computer ‘glitch’ does keep the state from spending money it probably didn’t have at that moment. California though has been running deficits for years playing book keeping games going to make the budget look balanced when it isn’t
