Perhaps it is that violent people are drawn to violent video games.

Not all who play GTA are prone to violence. Most aren’t.

I find it boring. My son finds it challenging, for a while. Then he proceeds on to a new game.

I don’t think it incites violence but it does de-sensitizes us the same way Hollywood does. No different that “action packed” movies. Some of the shooters in the past massacres had an obsession with video games as I recall. I don’t blame the game, I blame the person but the game can be a “trigger” for violence prone people.
