A New Jersey college student wants Congress to stand strong against tougher gun laws. A Colorado software executive thinks the federal government goes too far in protecting gun rights. A child-care worker in Wisconsin just wants the shootings in her city to stop.

Even as the debate over tightening national gun control laws is rekindled after the latest mass shooting, a growing number of Americans are questioning the government’s stewardship of the right to bear arms, according to a poll by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. …

Overall, 44 percent of Americans think the federal government is doing a good job of safeguarding the right to keep and bear arms, down from 57 percent two years earlier. …

Olog, The socialist democrats think TAKING GUNS FROM LAW ABIDING CITIZENS will address CRIME, MASS KILLINGS, AND GUN VIOLENCE. As unusual, they are firing from the hip and blowing their toes off. Law abiding citizens are not committing the gun crimes. It’s criminals, thugs and mentally ill. They will not address this problem. Just look into the inner cities for proof.

They don’t actually think that. They actively want to destroy the Second Amendment, rather, like they’ve already destroyed so much of the rest of the Constitution. They’ve been at it for a long time, even trying for a gun grab after the Beltway Sniper incident (but they didn’t hold power at that time).

Intentionally.
The "government" is constrained by the Constitution and is relentlessly and systematically undermining all elements of the Constitution, e.g., The Second Amendment.

Wow...really? Next thing you know, they're gonna say if you jump in the water, you're gonna get wet! /sarc

I would say Nancy Benac and Jennifer Agiesta, of the Accuracy Problem, have an amazing grasp on the obvious (cue CPT Obvious graphic).

I don't believe that for a second; they're not that dumb. They just want us all disarmed so no one can resist the dictator and his plans. Socialist democrats aren't dumb, they're plain evil.

The other day EEEgo-reilly said, in his brilliant talking points memo, that the founding fathers intended for the citizens to be able to bear arms to protect themselves from criminals. Apparently someone must have corrected him because the next night he said “to protect the citizens from a tyrantical government AND tyrantical people”. He wasn’t about to admit he was wrong about one part. He just added the truth in another part.

He also was called on a bold faced and fresh lie by Miller when he said he drove himself to work on the Long Island Expressway. Miller made him admit he has a driver.

The poll follows the realization of a large number of independents that President Obama lied to them, and cannot be trusted.

Remember how often he claimed to support the second amendment?

This level of distrust is not going away.
