Administration to Press Ahead With Carbon Limits
New York Times ^ | September 20, 2013 | By MICHAEL D. SHEAR

The Obama administration on Friday announced that it was not backing down from a confrontation with the coal industry and would press ahead with enacting the first federal carbon limits on the nation’s power companies.

The proposed regulations, announced at the National Press Club by Gina McCarthy, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, are an aggressive move by Mr. Obama to bypass Congress on climate change with executive actions he promised in his inaugural address this year.

"So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted." -- Barack Hussein Obama, Jan 17, 2008

I would say a court case quickly brews out of this. If you can’t cite law, and just say it’s some EPA-contrived rule...then states will merely grin and pass a law that forbids the EPA from enforcing it in their state. The EPA will sue, and off to the Supremes we go.

You just end up with more lawyers on the EPA staff....running cases for a year or two....and judges sitting there and shaking their heads over something that isn’t law.

Meanwhile, Republican “leadership” in Congress is hiding under their respective desks in wet trousers.

The coal industry needs to get together and SUE, big time, the FedGov for all this wacky policies based on politics, not science. They can get all those climate scientists who now admit the Earth isn’t warming (despite rising CO2 emissions), and just to get some headlines claim something like $50 billion in damages.

It’s time to stand and fight the eco-Nazis.

Further example of America's finish. Nothing will stop King Obama from totally convert America to a third world type country and will become dictator. There is no opposing force that can stop him except taking over the Senate and hold the House. Impeachment is a must. Otherwise America is finished. When America crashes a civil war will happen.

Makes it pretty clear that environmental whackos are writing at least half the checks to Democrat election campaigns.

Carbon Dioxide has nothing to do with global temperature.

What if industries just said NO!

No reason to comply with a tyrannical dictate.

This President really has kept almost every one of his campaign promises. More than his predecessors by far.

Part of the problem i reckon: predecessors making promises not kept lured voters to a false sense of security to just presume the worst of 0’s promises would not be kept.

You are so correct.

The earth gets 99.99999% of its heat energy from the sun. Lightening, volcanoes, and heat generated by meteorites all have much greater effect than CO2.

It’s the sun that heats our planet.

"What if industries just said NO!"

They had a chance to do that in 2008, and 2012. Coal is important to PA and Ohio, but they voted for the Bamster.

So as he cripples their economies, I have absolutely no sympathy.

They made their beds.

Well, we did somehow manage to elect a pretty good republican governor here. We’re not all bad in PA.
