There’s no way that someone as smart as Putin believes the nonsense he’s spewing, so that immediately leads to the question “Why is he spewing it?” That is what I want to know as well. Does he want Iran to be able to nuke Israel? If so why?

It’s real simple. Israel is the USA’s ally. Putin is the USA’s enemy. Putin is hostile to all US allies and friendly with all US enemies.
