The Syrian crisis over the past few weeks has thrust President Obama into a role in which at times he has seemed uneasy: that of commander in chief.
The prospect of an attack to punish Syrias alleged use of chemical weapons exposed the Nobel Peace laureates strained and somewhat tentative relationship with the military. His dramatic oscillation from detachment on Syria to the brink of military action, with him ultimately settling for a potential diplomatic solution, has unsettled many people in uniform.

I would not trust any of our military leaders who (in confidence, of course) would not consider Obama to be the lowest of the low...and one who they’d court martial immediately should the military have been dumb enough to allow him to enlist.
They are professional and obey him thus far.
However, I do know that most regard him as slime.
Obama is so divisive that in a one on one meeting with the guy, you suffer from split personality disorder by the time you get out of the room.
Can you imagine Obama and Larry Summers both in the same room. Each of them not only thinking that he is the smartest person in any room, but also making sure that everyone else knows it.

What a crock! How about Obama’s agenda and idiotic policies are what “unsettle many in uniform”?
The high brass are all in his pocket because they got there by pure politics.
These Washington Compost writers are trying to make it look like the military are a bunch of war-mongers and that the boy genius Obama is just too quick for them in his move to “settle” Syria diplomatically.
Yeah, our “Nobel Laureate” prize winner was about to start another war for what? His so-called “word” being kept?
What a joke.
Hoodat & blackdog just hit paydirt for you.
Criticism from both Gates and Panetta is huge.
It is huge for other countries, for Congress, for media figures, etc.
In each case, Obama, his advisors, Kerry and lapdog Hagel look incompetent.
