The Senate Judiciary postponed their hearing on "Stand Your Ground" laws on Tuesday morning, after the mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard one day earlier. "Stand Your Ground" came into national prominence last year after George Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Florida, where the law allows people to use deadly force to defend themselves. Martin's mother was expected to testify, along with the parents of Jordan Davis, another unarmed, black teenager killed in Florida. RT's Meghan Lopez talks to Jordan's father Ron Davis and his lawyer, John Phillips, about the controversial legislation.

Is it not bizarre that these shootings by those closely associated with have mental issues/associated with the military seem to occur just in time for a hearing, court case, or some sort of big government show down?

Not blaming the military troops in any way, but wondering about upper echelon and powers that be types. It’s as if a play is going on and someone is supplying the actors.

I don’t know about that. That first paragraph contains this
“when George Zimmerman shot and killed 17 year old Trayvon Martin”. I’ll grant you their writer didn’t include “shot and killed an “unarmed” Trayvon” which NBC would have done .

But it sure didn’t read when George Zimmerman while defending himself shot and killed 17 year old Trayvon Martin etc. Which was a hell of a lot more factual , .

Congress has no reason to be doing anything about SYG laws, which are established by States. It’s particularly assinine to try to focus on the Travon death, since it was a matter of self defense and not SYG.

Sybrina Fulton is a media whore. She abandoned Trayvon when he was 3 y/o and left him to be raised by another woman, who has only appeared on one TV show (to my knowledge). She was the one that booted him out of her house because of his drug use, thug behavior and school expulsions...which led to him living with his semen donor and HIS girlfriend. .........All TRASH.
