Uh, no shinola sherlock. Income is generally related to productivity and employers generally want to hire those that can be the most productive.

The lowest income folk do not posess the skills necessary to compete with others that have very marketable (productive) skills. Therefore, they are not as employable, resulting in more unemployment. My advice, quit bitching and go get a marketable skill. Anyone discussing an “employment gap” is likely claiming that some are “luckier than others.”

I know a couple of people that did that. They studied engineering and software. Came out of good schools and cannot get a jobe because they did not have work experience. Come out of college and told they did not have work experience in their field, so the corporations hired a foreign tech worker because he had several years of experience in his homeland and willing to work cheaper then an American college grad. Experience and 1/3 less salary. Now the US wants to bring in more H-1B workers. I actually had a freeper who loves that because he made it and now is the manager in charge of hiring. He rants how American college grads lack experience, and skills. I actually blogged him and asked when he came out of college many years ago, was he hired for his vast working experience in the tech area he studied and grad. If employers had that attitude 20 years ago, would he be a manager today?
Talked to a China expert once. Yes they have no political freedom but their leaders are wary of high unemployment because they do fear popular revolt caused by it. China has a history where dynasties fell to economic hardship. The Chinese Communist atleast understand this. The American gov and corporations do not seem to care. Guess they never experience a popular revolt and assume the American population can take the abuse of “creative destruction”. There is always a first time for every nation.

I see you’ve fallen for the “US workers are unproductive” foreign propaganda. No; jobs keep leaving because of the taxation and regulation regimens. (Are workers at VW plants in Tennessee “unproductive”? They may become so if the UAW gets their hooks in there.)
