A fresh wave of bombs has killed at least 21 people across Iraq - mostly targeting Shia areas - officials say.

The deadliest was in the city of Hilla, south of the capital Baghdad, where two car bombs at a market killed at least nine civilians.

Other bombs hit Baghdad itself as well as Basra, Nasiriya and Karbala in the south of the country.

Sectarian violence has surged across Iraq in recent months, reaching its highest level since 2008.

More than 5,000 people have been killed so far this year in Iraq, 800 of them in August alone, according to the United Nations.

Well, looks like we’ve left these folks to their own devices, and guess what, more hell breaking loose since we left. So much for muslim countries working out their problems in a peaceful, democratic way. Watching countries implode after so much cost in American lives and taxpayer money is disgusting as hell. And these people will continue to hate us no matter what. Pathetic, and we’re letting them into the West by the millions. Suicide.

The Christian-Muslim Difference

Christian-dominant societies have had periods in history when Christian beliefs were used as a warrant for violence against others - other Christians and non-Christians.

However, regardless of that history there was no warrant in Christian scripture itself to justify that violence.

Unfortunately that is not the case with Islam, in which there are texts in the Quran that can justify the violence that Muslims have been inflicting on each other and on non-Muslims. Some Muslims may point to some other text in the Quran that contradicts the text with which a violent jihadist finds justification for his actions, but the contradiction only adds to the problems of the Quran, it does not eliminate the belief or the history of the violence the text has been found to justify throughout Islamic history.

Islam is six centuries younger than Christianity. The last major religious-justified wars within and by Christian societies are barely 350 years in the past. That was about 1650 years after Christianity began. We can only wonder if the world will have to wait another 250-300 years for the Muslim bloodletting to burn itself out, if - given the contradictions in the Quran, it ever will.
